Audio Introductions

Creating Audio Intros for Portfolios#

Audio introductions add a personal touch to your published portfolios. Instead of visitors reading about you, they hear you introduce yourself.

To create an audio intro:
1. Open a portfolio in the editor
2. Click the microphone icon in the portfolio header section
3. Choose Record Live or Generate from Text
4. If generating, type your introduction (2-4 sentences recommended) and select your voice clone
5. Preview the audio and click Save

The audio intro appears as a play button next to your name on the published portfolio page.

Text-to-Speech for Portfolio Sections#

You can add audio narration to any section of your portfolio:

1. Open a portfolio in the editor
2. Hover over any section header
3. Click the speaker icon that appears
4. Choose Auto-narrate (uses the section text) or Custom (write custom narration text)
5. Select your voice clone and style
6. Generate and save

Section narrations appear as inline audio players within the published portfolio. Visitors can listen to individual sections or click Play All for a continuous narration.

This is particularly powerful for case studies — hearing you walk through your thought process adds authenticity that text alone cannot convey.

Embedding Audio in Published Portfolios#

Audio elements are automatically embedded when you publish a portfolio with audio intros or section narrations.

Audio player features:
- Play/pause button with a progress bar
- Playback speed control (0.75x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x)
- Volume slider
- Skip forward/backward 10 seconds
- Keyboard accessible (Space to play/pause, arrow keys to seek)

Display options (configurable in portfolio settings):
- Inline — Audio player appears within the section content
- Floating — A mini-player appears at the bottom of the viewport
- Header only — Only the intro audio is shown, no section players

Playback Controls and Customization#

Customize the audio experience for your portfolio visitors:

Player appearance:
- Accent color — Matches your portfolio theme by default, but can be overridden
- Style — Minimal (just a play button), Standard (play + progress), or Full (all controls)
- Auto-play — Disabled by default. Enable to start audio when the section enters the viewport (not recommended for accessibility)

Audio management:
- View all audio clips for a portfolio in the Audio Manager (editor toolbar > Audio)
- Reorder clips, regenerate individual ones, or remove them
- Download all audio as a ZIP file for external use
- See total audio duration and estimated listening time for the full portfolio
