Understanding Your Scores#
After each session, you receive detailed scoring on a 0-100 scale. Here is how to interpret the ranges:
| Score Range | Rating | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 90-100 | Exceptional | Ready for top-tier interviews. You demonstrate mastery. |
| 75-89 | Strong | Solid performance. Minor improvements would make you exceptional. |
| 60-74 | Adequate | You cover the basics but lack depth or polish. More practice needed. |
| 40-59 | Developing | Significant gaps in your answer. Review the model answer carefully. |
| 0-39 | Needs Work | Major improvements needed. Start with the framework suggestions. |
Your score is the weighted average of four dimensions described below. Focus your practice on your lowest-scoring dimension for the fastest improvement.
Four Scoring Dimensions#
Content (40% weight)
- Did you address all parts of the question?
- Are your examples specific and relevant?
- Do you demonstrate domain expertise?
- Are metrics and outcomes included?
Structure (25% weight)
- Did you use an appropriate framework?
- Is there a clear beginning, middle, and end?
- Are your points organized logically?
- Did you stay focused without tangents?
Communication (20% weight)
- Is your language clear and concise?
- Do you avoid jargon that an interviewer might not know?
- Is the response the right length for the question type?
- For voice responses: pacing, filler words, confidence
Impact (15% weight)
- Do you convey the business impact of your actions?
- Are results quantified (revenue, users, percentages)?
- Do you demonstrate leadership and ownership?
- Would the interviewer walk away remembering your answer?
Strengths and Improvement Areas#
Below the scores, the AI provides a narrative summary:
Strengths — 2-3 specific things you did well, with references to your answer. For example: "You effectively framed the problem using the CIRCLES framework and provided three distinct user segments."
Areas for Improvement — 2-3 actionable suggestions. For example: "Your result section lacked specific metrics. Instead of saying 'the feature was successful,' quantify with 'the feature drove a 23% increase in weekly active users.'"
Each improvement area links to relevant practice resources (other questions, framework guides, or example answers).
Model Answers#
Every question includes a Model Answer — an AI-generated exemplary response that demonstrates what a top-scoring answer looks like.
Model answers include:
- The full response text (or transcript for voice-appropriate answers)
- Annotations highlighting key elements (framework usage, metrics, transitions)
- A breakdown of why each section scores well
- Alternative approaches that would also score highly
Model answers are starting points, not scripts to memorize. Use them to understand the structure and depth expected, then build your own authentic responses.
Retrying Questions#
You can retry any question to improve your score:
- Go to Interview Prep > Session History
- Open the session containing the question
- Click Retry next to the question
- A new session opens with just that question
- Write or record a new response
- Compare your new score with the original
Both attempts are saved and visible in your history. The higher score is used for your rolling average.
After reviewing the model answer and improvement suggestions, wait at least 24 hours before retrying. This gives your brain time to internalize the feedback.
