Engagement Metrics Overview#
The Visibility Analytics dashboard gives you a complete picture of your LinkedIn presence. Access it at LinkedIn > Analytics.
The dashboard is organized into four tabs:
- Overview — High-level metrics and trends
- Posts — Per-post performance breakdown
- Audience — Follower demographics and growth
- Benchmarks — How you compare to other PMs in your cohort
Followers and Profile Views#
Track your audience growth over time:
- Follower count — Total followers with daily/weekly/monthly growth rate
- Profile views — How many people viewed your full profile
- Search appearances — How often your profile appeared in LinkedIn search results
- Connection requests — Incoming requests correlated with your posting activity
Each metric includes a trend line showing the last 30/60/90 days and a comparison to the previous period.
A spike in profile views after a post means people are interested enough to learn more about you. Follow up with more content on the same topic.
Post Impressions and Engagement Rate#
Understand how your content performs:
- Impressions — Total feed appearances across all posts in the selected period
- Engagement rate — Average (Likes + Comments + Shares) / Impressions across all posts
- Top performing post — The post with the highest engagement in the period
- Posting frequency — Posts per week with an optimal frequency recommendation
The engagement rate chart shows daily data points with a 7-day moving average trendline. Hover over any point to see the specific posts published that day.
Top Performing Content#
The Top Content section ranks your posts by engagement rate:
Each post card shows:
- Post preview (first 2 lines)
- Publication date and time
- Impressions, likes, comments, and shares
- Engagement rate as a percentage
- Content type tag (Story, List, Hot Take, etc.)
Filter by date range, content type, or minimum engagement. Export the top content list as CSV for further analysis.
Review your top 5 posts monthly and identify patterns — topics, writing style, posting time — then double down on what works.
Growth Trends Over Time#
Visualize your growth trajectory with interactive charts:
- Follower growth — Cumulative follower count over time
- Engagement trend — Rolling average engagement rate
- Content velocity — Posts published per week over time
- Influence score — A composite metric combining reach, engagement, and consistency
Each chart supports toggling between daily, weekly, and monthly granularity. Use date range selectors to zoom into specific periods (e.g., before and after a content strategy change).
Exporting Analytics Data#
Export your analytics data for external analysis:
- Navigate to LinkedIn > Analytics
- Set your desired date range
- Click Export in the top-right
- Choose format: CSV, JSON, or PDF report
CSV exports include one row per post with all metrics. The PDF report generates a formatted summary suitable for sharing with a manager or career coach.
Exports are also available via the API — see the API Portfolios documentation for programmatic access.
